gas mileage

im getting around 17 the best and its all high way on crusie controle. the computer says i get 19.6 but i dont. any have an idea what could be wrong.

I get about 18 in town and 25-27 on the highway. about 25 with the a/c on and 27 with it off.

I was getting 27 + but all of a sudden it dropped to 24. I drive the same place every weekend and it all highway for 300 miles.With cruise and a/c on I was getting consistant 27+. Now the same exact trip without a/c I get only 24 . Any ideas?

Oxygen sensors, spark plugs, and fuel filter.

Mine went from a strong 28 to 26+, it's currently at 25.4 for a couple thousand miles, I had the trans fluid changed, and an alignment just before it dropped, I think the allignment is off a bit... (feels a bit Loose), it's after 5 when I get home and everybodies closed, if I leave it, I'm stuck in the truck @14mpg/diesel, so...

I filled up this morning,... 16.93 gal, said I could still get 12 miles.
I hate to stop for gas Everyday when I can make it two... (barely)

Do these all have the same size tank??, is there a larger one that will fit??

18.5 gallon tank.

you COULD put a fuel cell in the trunk if you wanted to.

Mine seems to think it's 17 according to the message center.
Is 18.5 standard for all years??
I had thought of bladders before, but I'm getting pretty Lazy in my Old age...
I might have gotten slightly more aggresive since I was getting 28+, and I've been running the Heater, witch seems to run the A/C as well, but it's hard to notice much differance there,... maybe with a good Flat road...

Right now i'm getting around 31-32mph on the freeway cruising around 65mph with 4.30 gears. New fuel filter, premium 91 gas, almost brand new Motorcraft 02 sensors.

Ok, you guys are making me feel bad, when I got this thing, I'd had been elated with 21..., I've got one gallon showing on the Status display, about 27 mi., the gas station is only about 5 mi., but three stop signs don't help.
It's already turning Cold here, and I don't work well in cold weather, but it sounds like new plugs are the least I should be considering...
I haven't been able to notice Any differance with octane rattings, I don't have any steady miss or other dirvabilty problems, I do want to get it back to the shop and recheck alingment...

Is there a Reserve in these tanks?, because it's telling me Less than a gallon, but holds shy of 17...
