CD disk changer question

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hi,
I've got a 98 Continental. I've only got a cassette player included with my stereo but I see that I have a button on the stereo marked CD. Can I just buy an over the counter disk changer to put in my trunk or do I have to look for something that's compatable with Lincoln? What would be the cost of one? Would I have to buy an amp or anything to go with it?

Thanks, Jerry

Mine is in the center console.

I would just buy a unit on eBay and wire it up.
eBay

As for what you need, the wiring for the system should be already installed, but you may need the cable to go from the changer to the head unit in addition to the changer itself.

I had the same thing, I bought a Ford CD Changer from ebay and a cable and had it installed.
It appears that Ford CD capable radios only accept CD changers that are designed specifically for Ford.
