That site is a mockery. I dont understand why, and I dont care how it got put up. But I find it immature and offensive. I would suggest that anyone who knows how to hack or whatever, take down that link, possibly report it to the DNS company that hosts the url, and maybe find out the IP or info of the person who decided to be cute.

Anyway, this is probably old news, but when I saw it, it made my heart sink. I dont understand how someone can be such a loser. He/she apprently has way too much time on their hands, and frankly it seems they dont have any life at all. Makes one wonder if they've ever been laid *grin*

You apprently did not understand what I was writing. And it seems you haven't looked at the link I posted either. It is the exact opposite link that THIS forum is. www.cadillacvslincoln.com... this forum is lincolnvscadillac.com.

I was pointing out the fact that someone created an alternate site that mocked THIS forum. I LOVE this forum. Its the OTHER site that offended me.

Next time, try to read the ENTIRE message instead of posting your own negative feedback/attitude.

Mespock, you misunderstood -- he was talking about a site that is NOT this one where its making fun of me and Geno and a few others from other sites.

Regardless, and I want this to be CRYSTAL clear to everyone.... Dont EVER tell someone if they dont like LvC to not come here anymore. I appreciate the strong feelings and devotion, but that kind of thinking can lead to some pretty nasty things. People are entitled to their opinions, even if that opinion is that im an as*hole.

If someone doesnt like the site, they'll go away on their own... Dont chase anyone away. Leave that to the people who make sites like that stupid one he brought to our attention.

I appreciate the clarification, Joey. And the info. I will pursue the incident a little more and, perhaps, be able to come to a resolve. If I feel things may get out of hand, I will drop the whole thing.

I understand that people should feel free to express their opinions and beliefs as they choose, however expressed, at least, in a professional and mature manner.

I couldn't understand what you were saying as most of your previous posts were positive, I must have missed something.

My mistake. I just think this is a great site created by good people and could believe that someone could tear it apart - Especially saying that it was immature. That is something I have found on other sites and why I like this site.

This site is not just a bunch of gear heads talking way above the average member, and it's not a bunch of kids trash talking and bashing everyone.

That's what has made this site so much fun to be a part of.

Once again I apologize - to error is human - I am definitely that!

I will go to bed early tonight and not have any snacks.

Looks like he took it down, He is saying that people need to get a life and not take such a car club so far, but I do remember him making a hate website, gee, how long did that take, how much time did he waste on the computer, you know what he should step away from the computer, maybe go for a walk, "spend time with the kids".

I emailed the www.markviii.org and Lincolns of Distinction web admins about the incident. I explained in a calm and professional manner that they have a member who is tarnishing their reputation and damaging the spirit and fellowship of Lincoln and Cadillac owners worldwide.

I guess it got their attention. *grin*

Im just happy that the site got taken down and the situation dealt with in a professional manner. Hopefully there wont be any furthur outbreaks of foolish behavior.

I didn't get a response to my email, but I think the fact that the site was taken down is proof enough. heh
Im glad everything worked out and didn't turn into a brush-fire.

Well, I have anguished over posting this for hours. I will do my best to "mod" myself.

This guy has shown some of the poorest taste I have ever seen on the web. Joey just a day before suffers a great personal loss and this guy takes the opportunity to "cheap shot" him. It was either the worst timing I have ever seen or one the cruelest things anybody can do. Let the guy grieve without having to deal with this bs for pete's sake.

I truly hope the guy reads this post because I know he "deletes" his emails. I know he will be lurking this thread and I can only hope he will show enough class to email Joey and offer a personal apology. THAT would be the standup thing to do.

I am sorry I had to write this but I just couldn't stand to see Joey take a hit for no reason, especially under the circumstances.

Guys, I am asking everybody to not respond to this thread anymore. It has run its course.

I only posted to let the guy know he should apologize to Joey. That's it. We should let this go away. I think everybody knows it was a mistake and hopefully something good comes of it. All of us at the LVC will continue to enhance the positive spirit here.

I couldn't agree more. With an untimely death in the family, these kinds of personal differences can wait or be forgotten. I don't know what provoked an attack like that site suggested, but Im grateful that itwas taken down promptly.

I also agree with "Many on that other board really need to do a re-evaluation."

The first forum I joined was theirs. I skimmed over a few of their areas and asked a few questions, which got met with replies of newbie this and I-can't-believe-you-dont-know-how-to-do-blah-blah, that. It made me feel like I was being degraded for my lack of knkowledge of my own car. Granted, Im not the most experienced Lincoln veteran by any means, but I love my car and I cherish it for its rich history and its overall performance, class, style. But to be discouraged to do anything with it simply because I didn't understand their lingo...

Well, As you can imagine, I was not only disappointed, but frankly I felt be-littled and insulted. (Is that any way to treat your guests?) lol

But, determined, I kept looking for friendly and helpful forums that I could get advice and info on my car. My very first post a few days ago, and not even ten minutes later I got VERY helpful and friendly responses from you guys, which led me to purchasing body parts for my car at 10 times less than the retail cost.

Needless to say, I was quite impressed. And seeing that caddy vs linc . com site and all of its ridiculous slander, and then reading about the tragedy in Joey's family.... well, my heart sank. And I felt I had to do something about it.

Joey, I understand that you have to keep a cool head about these kinds of things, being diplomatic and the Father (if you will) of this forum. But if anything like that really bothers you, you have a plethora of intelligent and professional people in this forum, it seems, who all care vey much for you and the forum.

I feel proud to be a part of this new family.

The site is up and it is pretty rude. Joey, I know you have a lot going on right now but there are laws against Internet mockery. Basically the laws are set up to protect you or your business against plagiarism and from being dis credited.

If you feel that that site is harming you in any way you can take legal action. Seeing how they specifically use your name I would look into it.

Other than that I agree. They are losers with nothing better to do.

The site doesnt really bother me believe it or not. Im pretty thick skinned. Beyond that, sites like that really only attract attention from threads just like this, so to me they are no threat. Sticks n stones. Some people have to say dumb things to build themselves up- it never works, and just adds to my work. I would rather spend that time being positive and building the site then trying to tear someone else down.

Im not going to lock this thread, because I really dont think I need to. You guys are all great people and dont need to be handled like children. You all know that enough has been said.
