Best Looking Caddy Contest Finalists

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: Joeychgo

Ok gang........ here are the finalists. So many great cars were entered we decided to list 4 finalists instead of 3. The LVC Staff really fought this one out, I commend all those who entered, it was a tough decision for us to get it down to 4.

The winner will be chosen by all of you. Voting will continue until Tuesday. (due to the 4th holiday I wanted to make sure people had a chance to vote if they access from work) Good luck to all.

Here are the pics submitted by the finalists:

All very nice cars...I cast my vote.

Posted by: mespock

I think they should have to drive them to all our homes and then we get 24hrs to try them out.

Wow all nice rides -

There are no losers in this group! :

Posted by: UNVMYCTS

No Big deal but how come Dave Smed has a link to a bunch of other pictures of his car and nobody else does. That seems a little unfair especially after all the to do about only having 3 pics.

Hey man, there is no need to be harsh. The guy was just pointing out something that could easily have given the other guy an unfair advantage. Give him a break, it's not hurting anything.

Exactly I was just trying to keep things fair. No need to get all cranky. Relax. Buddy. By the way, your exactly right is is just a contest. Contests are supposed to be fair. I think everybody can appreciate that. Believe me I think all these cars are great and I may the best car win

I may be wrong but I think he was just bustin your . Nothing more than a bunch of friends giving each other a hard time. Sometimes its hard to determine the tone of voice through writing but I can almost guarantee you that the people of this board are a great bunch of people that don't intend on starting confrontations, they just like to kid around.mebee

Posted by: UNVMYCTS

I agree! All Love PEEEEEEAAAAAAAACCCCCCCEEEEEEE!

Posted by: Cadillac STS

whoa, i really thought i had a chance..too bad, they all look like granny haulers except the CTS and the STS

Posted by: Sifrino3

Well, thats not good. Not one of them stick out. Like one of the top three in my choice. But if it has to be done. I will pick the old skool!

Posted by: MonsterMark

Sorry guys, we did say that we were going to make sure that all the finalists only had 3 pictures each. We messed up, sorry.

As far as picking the cars, I could have easily picked 5 or 6 more. Just like everybody has a favorite color, I think that especially goes for cars. People have favorite types of cars. We wanted to make sure that we had the best representative group of cars. We hope we accomplished that. If not, there will be more contests, trust me.

Posted by: pepperman

There is no harm done, all the cars were great and it was a hard choice but i like the OLD SCHOOL way of things. mebee

Posted by: codewize

I have to say out of those choices it's tough. I also like the old school and the others are pretty stock, except the convertible. Although all the cars are beautiful the one that holds the most clout in the heritage of Cadillac is obvious.

Just my 2 cents

Posted by: hottweelz

I casted my vote,

Posted by: ShadowLvr400

Huh, well aint that a... Kinda disappointed, but ah well. The guy I thought was gonna be first was in the list at least. I have the feeling that it was the neon lights that killed my chances.

What am I missing? The convertible looks bone stock to me. uestionm

Posted by: mespock

:smilies-3 These are all nice rides - My thoughts also on the choices - The Old School stands out -

I do like the Red convertable - Looks very hot. Now if there was a Gorgeous Blonde in there - Well she wouldn't have to be blonde - but Naked would work

I'd have to go with it.

Posted by: Rollinon20s

i casted my vote, but i am disappointed in the choices. since my ride is better than 3 of the cars

By far the best restored classic is JEANSZOO, Look how much work
went into that car! what's the matter, you boys afraid of pink??

For the most tasteful (no neon!) job with aftermarket products
it would go to UNVMYCTS --Cheater-- Whiner-- Kiss azz!!!

If we voted for the top car that most would want in their driveway,
then the XLR is King!

Posted by: UNVMYCTS

Thats cool, No Doubt. I think XLR is a little jealous. Anyway, If it were up to me I would much rather have the CTS-V in my driveway. Don't get me wrong but the XLR is more of a womans car. The CTS-V, now thats a real mans car!

Ya, a little jealous. We all want to be winners, especially when it comes to our cars. That's the bond that brings us together

Liking the CTS-V allot. I'm trying to get my brother to buy one so we can trade off when I need the excess room.

Agreed, a womans car......you can't imagine all the women it gets!!

Posted by: UNVMYCTS

I'm just bustin chops due to the whining comment. But seriously, I am a big dude and I just can't see Howie Long in that XLR on the cell phone commercials, it doesn't look right. Don't worry rumor has it there is a going to be anew contest. The prettiest caddy contest. You are definitely the fav. HeHeHe!

If you don't "fit", you're missing out on a great ride,
but it's not for everyone
Next time you see one, notice how "pretty" the tail lights are,
cuz you won't see much more than that!!

Posted by: UNVMYCTS

No Way, to be honest I think that it is a shame that your ride is not up there. Aside from my own I would pick your ride up the number 1. Nice Work.

Hey XLR I wasn't complimenting your car I was talking about the STS. By the way your car is so ing fast, 14.4 seconds WOW. C'mon dude you gotta know the facts before you start throwing around numbers.
This is the 04 CTS specs from motor trend.

If you think I would be looking at your "pretty" tailights, your sadly mistaken. By the way I'm not into looking at guys "tailights". Sorry

Posted by: Nick Campagna

My God, what a group! Somebody wins, somebody loses. If you say pick three, then pick three. and let the chips fall. It's not life or death. I love my 76 Eldo, but let's keep the world in perspective.

Posted by: DTSon22s

I don't think 1_XLR threw around any #'s. What just happen?

Posted by: UNVMYCTS

DTS I was just saying how much I liked your ride. I said STS but I meant DTS. OOps. The numbers thing started when XLR was stating how fast his car was and how I would be looking at his tailights. I think Sifrino posted the XLR specs. I was just showing the spec comparison on the CTS and XLR. Simply stated based on specs I wouldn't be looking at the Tailights on the XLR in fact we would probably be neck and neck. Dont you agree!

Posted by: Sifrino3

14.9 vs 14.4 is a good bus length. . .

It's not only what you drive, it's how you drive it!

Enjoy your CTS, it's a great ride
I wouldn't trade my XLR for anything....until the XLR-V in 2006

Posted by: UNVMYCTS

I agree!

When You get the XLR-V I'll race you with my CTS_V lol

FRIENDS?

Posted by: Sifrino3

You already giving up. This is no good bickering. You little school kids I don't see no teacher around. Lets get bickering or have the best Lincoln face off against the soon to be best Cadi! What ya think? I know, I know. Lincoln would easily win. But wouldn't it be worth it!

Posted by: UNVMYCTS

My dad is tougher then your dad!

Posted by: Sifrino3

I seen your Daddy driving a Lincoln!!!

Posted by: JoshMcMadMac

Sifrino, thanks for the numbers. For a stock luxury car, mid 14's is pretty quick.

My student slept with your honor student!

Posted by: 1_XLR

Hey, when he was confused about check'n out my taillights,
and wanted to be neck 'n neck, I knew it was time to bail!!

Posted by: UNVMYCTS

Hey XLR you just couldnt leave well enough alone. Heres the pic of me she wanted. Do me a favor and give it to you know who she wants to put it under her pillow. By the way she said she like the CTS better then the XLR. It is more of a mans car.

Remeber you can dish it so I hope you can take it

Posted by: Sifrino3

Posted by: K2K

I have to stick with my Seville roots for this one, although I'm a bit surprised at the finalists

Posted by: Sifrino3

Hey Cadillac owners. Do you ever look at the top of the page and wounder why Lincoln is before Cadillac? Also, it says Class, Style, and Attitude. Well, you got it right. Lincoln does have class and style. While Cadillac owners always have a bad Attitude. Its not that bad being in second place is it!? Hahaha

Im just trying to put the "VS" in this website. Since it is Lincoln Vs. Cadillac.

Posted by: UNVMYCTS

Me too. I'm just playin. Slow day at work so I figured why not spice it up. XLR I really do like your ride. It's probably the nicest caddy here. No hard feelings after all I am a Kizz Azz right? No hard feelings I hope. arty:

The old school Caddy is worth more today than when it was new. Do any of you really think that any of your current Cadillacs or Lincolns will be worth anything when they are that old? Todays cars lack the basics of styling and leave most emotionless when we look at them. You may not like that model, but you sure know what it is. Todays cars lack presence.

Hey Barry, nicely said. V.Nice Mark II
Old School Rules.

Posted by: DTSon22s

I love old cars and the majority of the cars I've owned have been 60's or older. The most recent being a 1950 Split Window bug that I just sold. I just don't want to drive them everyday. I know my new Cadillac will never compare in value with an old school, but I would never drive my 50's, 60's Cadillac to work everyday either.

Posted by: barry2952

I drive my old car everywhere. We drove it to Cincinnati for the Ault Park Concourse three weeks ago and drove it to the Bay Harbor Concours two weekends ago.

That car is more special than most of us even know. They hardly built any Mark II's like that anyway, and they really didn't build any convertibles, but for a couple of original coachbuilt conversions. Saying it's awesome is an understatement. It's rare that a guy with a car like that one logs in on a messageboard.

Well I have to say that I do. First gen STS? I don't know maybe I'm dreaming but it has to be worth something.

Barry I would first like to compliment on the Mark II. That is a very sweet ride and in exceptional condition. Are all the numbers right? Is it a resto or original? It sounds like it's quite the rarity.

I also agree with the lack of presence. I actually wrote a letter to Cadillac when they started changing the body style, basically saying the same thing. 10 years ago when you saw a car on the road you knew what it was, especailly a Cadillac. Now they all kind of blend.

My hats off to you. Nice car.

Posted by: barry2952

Thanks for your interest in my Mark II. It is true that Ford didn't build the convertibles but there were two that were commissioned by Ford. Mine was built first, in December of 1955 and the other, more famous, Mark II was first shown at the Texas State Fair in 1955.

My car is registered as a Certified Custom with the Lincoln and Continental Owners Club. It was authenticated by a former Hess & Eisenhardt production manager.

Everything is as original except the color. The previous owner bought the leather for the interior and had the paint mixed to match. It is not a stock color. It is somewhat green in bright sunlight and changes to deep blue in the shade. People comment most about the styling and second about the color.

We have been in seven Concours d'Elegance shows and have taken eight awards. The three major awards were "Autmotive Design of Exceptional Merit" from Eyes on Design 2003 in Warren MI, the "Willard Hess Award for Design Excellence" at Ault Park 2004 in Cincinnati, Ohio and "Most Elegant Motorcar" at the Bay Harbor Concours 2004 near Charlevoix, MI.

My wife and I are art collectors and we bought this car as a piece of rolling sculpture with no intention of showing it. We were encouraged by the LCOC to bring it out and expose the public to it. This car has created a whole new social life for us and the best part is the consistantly nice people we encounter.

Please visit my web site for the whole story on this car and to view some of our other toys.

Isn't the XLR convertible?

Other than that, true, but there are customs of course, I saw a convertible CTS the other day.

Back in '93 there was a convertible Alanté.
