no way.. only up..
$3.00 plus is here to stay.

the reason I say this is that all through my life, i have noticed that very wealthy businesses or wealthy people., well once they make a certain amount from someone, they do not lower that price.
they will not give it up.
they just don't... look at california out here with the auto insurance companies., we passed legislation that would not allow them to charge based on your zipcode where you garaged your car.., well, that didn't stop them., now they just call it zones and still use zipcodes..

this same thing goes on with all large businesses that take in a lot of money. such as utility companies and such..

in my experience, they just don't give it up once they have it.

Guys this is a topic that is out of GW's hands! Go to this thread I started in the Politics and Current events forum by clicking here . I tried to explain why prices are the way they are, and why in a little while we will wish gas was $3.00 a gallon.

in away i agree but i belive maybe in a year it might come down to like 2.75 agalon
some places its still at 2.89 a gallon in cleveland but those are those cheap gastations

You wana here somthing funny
they ohio had to give permission
for some of the older gasstation that are like 25 year old and older i guess
that still have there old pumps
or is it 15 years old
they had to get Permission to pump gas and charge by the half gallon couse there pumps wont go over
3.00 a gallon LOL
so they have to charg by the half gallon
so for the last 2 days everyone i know was going there and buying premum for 2.99 a gallon when the station across the stree was charging the same they where forced to charg the same but they had newer pump but they had to charg the same to keep up bysiness LOL

It went down .40 cents here today back to $2.99. Of course some other states fell by a full dollar and Michigan still has the most expensive gas in the country according to gasbuddy.com. Some are back down to paying $2.40.

Some gas stations in Tulsa have lowered the price of gas by at least 10 cents, I just saw this on the news from channel 8 in Tulsa. The price now is $3.09 a
gallon.

Sorry - wrong - the answer is NOT UNTIL WE ABOLISH THE EPA AND ABOLISH THESE ABSURD REFORMULATION LAWS AND ALLOW OUR OIL COMPANIES TO BUILD REFINERIES IN AMERICA.

Posted by: Evian

They say prices should be going down by next Thursday. Apparently the refinaries that weren't damaged are refining more gas now to meet the demand (wouldn't you refine more if you could get more for it?) Don't expect prices below $2.50 a gallon for several weeks. If something happens elsewhere don't expect prices to be less than $8 a gallon nationwide. Terrorist are keeping an eye on how this is affecting us and what Bush is doing or not doing to solve the problem. I wouldn't put it pass them to strike in Winter. This is when most Americans are most vulnerable. Katrina has taught us one thing and that is that America isn't ready to respond massively at a short notice or a long notice. My Mark is going into storage soon. Not because of the high gas prices but because I don't like taking it out in the snow. Hopefully, when my Mark comes out of hiberation gas prices will be normal (?) again.

Interesting, so by that logic, they had been watching as we did nothing for years as they bombed our embassies aound the world. My friend, you seemed to have exonerated Bush from any responsibility of 9/11. The RNC thanks you for your support, as we always do to all the dems come election.

Posted by: bigdog1279

Posted by: bigdog1279

Hey my Mark VIII gets as good of gas mileage as many V-6 smaller cars.

On average I'm getting 23 to 25 miles per gallon - Hwy I am getting 27-33 miles per gallon.

Lucky I get to do a lot of Hwy driving.

Posted by: klutch

It's down to 2.89 here I expect it to go down more after labor day

Posted by: bigdog1279

I DO ALOT OF HIGHWAYS DRIVING ALSO I JUST HAVE TO GET THE O2 SENSOR REPLACED THEN ILL GET GOOD mpg

Posted by: klutch

My O2's aren't great no warning light but I know they have some miles on them but I still get about 25MPG on the highway once I replace them I expect I will get 26 or more

I just drove 180 highway miles today and averaged over 28 mpg.

(New O2 sensors, removed air silencer and resonator, drilled air box.)

Posted by: bigdog1279

cool man but wow isnt that loud with out the resinator
i am thinkng about removing the air silencer on my continental how
wondering how i would do that man
what do you mean Drilled air box

Posted by: klutch

It's pretty self explanatory... you take the airbox and drill multiple holes in it so it can draw more air

Posted by: pepperman

Some places around Talequah are at $2.69 a gallon.

Posted by: bigdog1279

can soemone show me a picture of a drilled airbox so i know what to do and how to do it right man
but wouldnt that let more dirt into the engine or somthing like that Man

Posted by: fossten

No, it's really not. I can hear a little more of a throaty growl when I hit 3000 rpms, but it ain't like I removed the muffler, dude.

You take out the silencer and while you have the air box off, drill a bunch of holes in its leading edge. See tech article here:

http://www.lincolnsonline.com/article24.html

It doesn't let dirt into the engine because you put the filter back in place in the airbox.

Posted by: bigdog1279

It's likely pricing will be the new and effective justification per curbing our thirst. It's a bit premature. I'd like to thank the cooperation of forces that perpetuate our energy decline through preventing solutions. Pre-emptive action doesn't apply to our economy and lifestyle when record profits can be made.

The US has a gas production issue and there have been no major oil finds since the 60's...globaly! It's not interesting news, but has been mentioned. The experts know that demand is starting to out pace supply and will become severe with in 15 years.

Re: alternative fuels; the diesel engine provided the answer around 1900, it was designed to combust peanut oil! The patroleum industry bought the patent from Mr. Diesel and worked hard to formulate a patroleum solution. Odd how this is over looked while hydrogen is seen as 'the' distant solution, as it offers a butt load of technology and delivery issues...hmmm.
Looks like future hotroding will involve veg oil and the diesel. I know some guys with pickups that can smoke most cars. They hit 70 to 80 getting on to the freeway and they're pulling RV trailers loaded with 100 gal. of water, 20 gal of gas and dirtbikes!

Late

Posted by: bigdog1279

well i just want gas to come down and i know it wont for awhyll man and when its time for it lol to come down then they will say naw prices are right for the time it is with inflation LMAO

Posted by: bigdog1279

ok gas down agen 2.99 for reg down the street from me

Posted by: bigdog1279

ok um i have another idea thets go in at night and hijack a couple oil rwfinerys then we have all the gas we need guys what u say

Posted by: bigdog1279

still wating for gas to go lower LOL

Posted by: mrlandyacht

Darn tootin!
who cares if it costs a little more to fill it's tummy?
if you drive somethin you like every day and turn some heads while ur at it, that's much more fun than kartin around in a gas saver all the time that everyone else has and has no personallity to it.
drive a car for urself, not for gas....
and gas will get worse before it gets better, but that doesn't mean one can't hope for some breakthrough! it could happen...
---just my 2 cents...

Posted by: bigdog1279

i feel that man
i know what your saying man

but also stil just curiouse what the thouts are

Posted by: bigdog1279

woooooooo hooooooooo
gas is down 2.87 a gallon LOL

Posted by: cruzah

Gas here in Pittsburgh is right around 3 dollars a gallon and for real I wouldn't be caught dead in a honda.
My 90 mark 7 gets pretty good gas mileage...I am about to put it up for the winter months and drive my 89 new yorker cause it has front wheel drive.
The new yorker gets slightly better gas mileage with the 3.0 but not much.
I think that once we get things straight in the middle east the prices will come down...but it seems a loooong way off.

Posted by: pepperman

One town on my delivery route gas was $2.77 a gallon.

Posted by: Lincolnpimpin

When I was up in mankato,MN I saw it was 2.66 89.
