interior lights stay on on 95 DeVille

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

The interior lights on my 95 DeVille stay on after the door is closed more than one-half of the time. The only way to turn them off is to repeatedly open and close the driver's left front door. Any thoughts what I need to check?

sounds like the switch or the wires leading to it.

um the lach switch if its like out lincolns
try spraying some wd40
into the door latch where the door closes and locks
remember that part
say when you where a kid or if you where a kid and you messed around with the door lach and then after pushing it in you could get the door to close ok well
spray it in there the latch that closes on that car door
and if that work get some
silacone spray
close and open it
Like 10 time if that wock cool :

Took suggestion of bigdog1279 and sprayed latch with WD40, opening and closing door 10 times. This morning everything was totally dead and I had to attached a battery charger. Any ideas where the short may be coming from?

sorry
i have to do that to my Continental all the time
dont know why that would do that to you caddy Man
um shoot um if the lights are staying on and the light would not go out that would be the problem i would think
the light are just to mouch and deaining the batter out if my sugestion didnt work
the one thing i think you could do untill you could realy figure out what the problem is is
pull the fuse for the interrior lights
not shur how that work
For the Caddys
but on the Continetal
when i pulled the fuse over a year ago
it stoped batter from draining but also when you turn your light on exterrior at night your headlight they will still work but
light on you radio wont realy show up realy bright they will be dim interrior light
but that the way i can tell you for now to keep batter from deaining untill you find out whta rong Man
