well I got 1999 4R70W with 46,000 miles on it for only 255 dollars, anything i should know about installing a newer trans like this one, also since i got it for way cheaper then i was expecting Im now also looking for a 3500 stall to throw in since its going be down anyways right.

that is good news, do you know what car it came out of? i think it should be pretty easy install, i know you just have to swap out the MLPS. but maybe someone else who knows more about trans than me will chime in, but all in all... that is a very sweet deal. congrats!

Send a PM to Geno or send an email to Baumann. They both know the answer.

As for for the 3500 stall, check out www.edgeracingconverters.com or give them a call, they'll hook you up. I have a 3200 stall that can handle up to 600 hp and it was only $595 to my doorstep. Good luck

well the news turned out to be ok news, its from a mustang, but he had it supercharged for about 20,000 miles and always used mercon v, he wanted a lentech trans so i guess he bought one, and instead of letting this one just sit there he sold it, but he says its in perfect working order, but do you think the trans is ok he said he never 1-2 shifted it or beat the hell out of it but being supercharged and all

99's a good year for 4R70W, but I'd be a little concerned about the B&M shift kit that's in there...

Quote:
this is an automatic transmission from my 99 gt. this tranny is an aode 4r70w. the the car has a three bolt starter on it.(i guess thats important too). it has a b+m shift kit.

Posted by: MarkOfDeath

well if i bought the one genos always talking about can i just switch over the parts cause i dont like b&M

Posted by: driller

If you don't like the B&M shift kit and are unsure of the effect the SC and possible abuse, I would look elsewhere, but yeah a '98 or later would be your best bet in a used tranny.

Posted by: MarkOfDeath

do you think i can take out the b&m shiftkit

Posted by: driller

I suppose if you knew EXACTLY what the shift kit consisted of, and the stock parts that were replaced were available. At the very least you would need separator gaskets, most likely the separator plate as well.

Of course a new valve body, plate and gaskets would effectively do it as well.

The problem is stock internal parts of the valve body are difficult to come by. You can get some difficult to find tranny parts at Makco Distributing.
