Lincoln Steering...?

does the Lincoln Power steering, or anything relating to it, happen to be any different from a Crown vic/Grand Marq?
we had an 88 lincoln TC and I have an 88 Mercury Grand Marq and I happened to notice that the steering is just a little rougher..not as easy.
also, my friend's 86 merc is exactly the same with less miles than my car...
