Digital Dash Problems

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: gradymotorco1

Hello, this is my first thread posted here, and I posted because I have some problems with a Lincoln. I am thinking about buying a 86 Town Car Base, with est. 120,000 miles, with 2 problems. 1. is it needs a muffler, which is no problem, because I run a garage, but 2. is something I have never seen before, a Digital Dash that is completely dead. No power, No speedo, No NOTHING. It is just a black dash. I really hate to go and call my ford dealer that I buy parts from, and I have a set of Ford Manuals, but I need to know is it hard or easy to fix this kind of problem.
If you have a answer post or e-mail me devilleconcours100@hotmail.com
Thanks, Dave :

I think you need replace the whole thing like digital dash cluster and message center brain unit box (under the dashboard). You can find it at the junkyard.

I have an '84 Mark VII and the odometer fluctuates from my actual mileage numbers to an error message. Is there anything I can do to fix it? Thanks
