Adding heated windshield to 91' Towncar

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hello ,

I am a new member and so far I think I am gonna like it here..

For my first post I would like to ske a question..

I own a 1991 Towncar that was the victim of a random attack in a parking lot that cracked the windshield..

I looked for another windshield and found them to be quite expensive..

However, I have found an auto glass shop that has a new heated windshield that has been on thier shelves for nearly as long as my Lincoln has been on the road..

They have given me a great price for the windshield and I have accepted , but I wonder if the heated portionof the windshield can be made operational on my Towncar which came without this option..

Does anyone know if the connections for this option are present in all Towncars of this era?? If so , where would they be located??
Or, did the factory only install the connections for this option in the vehicles they installed the heated winshield in..??

I would appreciate any information anyone has to offer..

Thanks,
Brian

1990 was the only year I know of. They come equippted with a 3rd button on the dash where the fuel door and rear defrost buttons are.

Those windshiled with the de icing option dont work well for very long. They also look a bit funky from the outside, have you seen it yet?

Im pretty sure you cannot hook it up to your 1991 by factory means, but anything is possible.
