rear surround chrome

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

My plan is to get a McLaren grill for the front. I have a sport so the only remaining chrome will be on the back. I would like this to match as well. My car is black. Any solutions?

i bought a new surround (used) off ebay for 4 bucks. and went and got it painted for 40. and now i only have the chrome around the windows, and the LS emblems. check ebay, there was a guy who had like 30 of em. heres a pic of mine

How tough was it to install?

Posted by: itsnotmydaddys

the install was simple. all u have to do i take out the carpet(lining) on the top of the trunk. then get a socket wrench and take all the screws out. the there 2 (easy to break) clips, so take ur time. then u pop it out and put ur other one on.
u could just get the one u have painted. i wasnt sure if id like the look so i bought a used one. i love it though, it completes the look, well almost completes.

Yes, I can get the 2002 Lincoln LSE rear surrounds which come in Black (code UA) and Silver Frost (code TS). I haven't posted pics of them yet but I can get them from Ford.

Or if you want to make your own backup lights or relocate them to the bumper you can get one of these:

http://nationalautopart.net/catalog/...3c8bff8b96d0cb

The top mounting lug on mine broke off at some point allowing the emblem part of the surround to come away from the trunk. I ordered one of these thinking that I would just take the backup lights off my existing one. However, when I got it I discovered that while it appears to be designed for an LS, there is no way to mount the stock backup lights. I ended up sending it back and getting one from a junk yard.

I also bought one off of ebay for $20 and sent it to Ken to have it painted Metallic Grey (TV). Looooooooooooooks great! Easy to install.
