race against a new charger

This didn't happen while I was there but my brother had my car for the day and his friend has the new 5.7 charger. my brother told me he had him off the line, and they were kinda neck and neck till he hit 2nd and gained a lil. I have no clue how fast they got and it was a close race but my car came out ontop. idk if his friend couldn't drive it or if the traction control was on or if my car can really take one. I have no clue what those do in the 1/4, but I still am happy even if I wasn't the one who won.

yea but that hasn't come out yet has it? thats the one thats got the 6.1 425hp.

well I just looked at car and drivers webpage and they said the 5.7 does the 1/4 in 14.2. so Hopefully if my car was ahead of him I should be touching the 13's. I can't wait till the fall for the track.

yeah with all the mods you have done recently, i would not be surprised if you around the high 13's.

No, the 6.1 in the charger isn't out yet. The RT has the 5.7, the 6.1 comes out either later this year or early next year. The Charger looks good, but it should've been a 2 door. Anyways, when the new GT 500 comes out it'll totally spank the SRT8, and probably for less money too.

I myself managed to outrun a BMW 540I this afternoon. He looked mad that he lost by a car and did a ricer flyby.

i raced a jap guy in one of those awhile back... his car sounded funny so i laid back to hear... sounded like a civic. then i saw a look on his face that made him think he was really keeping up with me so then i floored it and he got stopped at the red light while i made the yellow

I had a guy in a beat up muffler loose dodge Spir(

) rev on me last night at a stop light... I laughed and didn't even bother... one my wife would have wacked me a good one.. and two when he took off he struggled getting up to 30 mph...

You could see that he thought he had something...

But his car sounded loud...

shouldn't laugh at too many of those spirits - the 2,2 l turbo is a 12 second car.

are they really supposed to be faster? i know they aren't all that fast in the 1/4, from seeing them run personally, but i haven;t had the chance to go up against one on the highway yet myself.

Stock for stock a 540i should be able to take a Mark VIII pretty easily.

Apparently not. When the car hit 3000 rpm's I walked him. It's nowhere near as fast as my Mustang but it holds it's own.

All I can say is that racing on the street is not a good indicator of which car is faster.

racing street shows true power, turns, straight-aways. handling and speed are both a factor and puts a car to the edge. (if ur racing hard, and conditions are right)

thing is, in street racing, there's a good chance that you catch the other driver asleep, in the wrong gear, or just a bad driver in general, so that skews things a lot.

It's not something that I do often, but on this particular day he was slower.
