I'm looking at a 97 LSC....i think the button for the windshield washer is missing though.....does anyone have a pic of theirs? is this an easy fix/ common problem?

I have a 98 sliverfrost/light graphite LSC, and YES, the washer button apparently manages to escape often enough. I don't have a pic of it, but it's easy to recogonize -- shiney, round, chrome, and dime-sized, imbedded right on the end of the turn signal arm -- technically known as the multifunction switch. The button can't be ordered separately, you have to buy the whole switch. It's part number F8LZ-13K359-AA , and I just ordered one last week from Max at 5 Star Ford for $221.33. The price is so high because the unit also has the tilt/telescope switch built into it on Gen 2's. It can be installed in about an hour, and besides the windshield washer, it was worth the money coz it simultaneously fixed my capricious tilt, which also seems to be a relatively common problem.

damn.............$221 for a wiper switch.....i think i might do without washers.....do you know if possibly there is something i could substute it with? or is there anythnig inside that switch besides that chrome button?

If it's any consolation, the list price of that part is $378.33!!! And like I said, it DID totally fix the tilt, which a LOT of Gen 2 owners have trouble with.
Otherwise, some folk have said they've pried the button out of a unit at the junkyard and somehow managed to re-insert it -- or successfully rigged something else up. I'm sure some of the more economy-minded Mark owners will have their 2 cents to add on the topic. ;-)

nice.....the tilt an all works fine as of right now.....i might try to see if i can fix it if there's any ideas.....but then again..its a 97 mark with 29k on it....if i get it i prob should fix it to be correct

Mine is a 98 with 30K -- so looks like an age issue, not a mileage one. I figure if folk want their Marks to hold their re-sale value and not depreciate so quickly, it's probably wise to properly maintain all the nifty lil gadgets and toys -- and NOT have an interior full of duct tape and paper clip fixes. ;-)
