f'n ashtray cover popped out

So i just bought a 97 black mark, go to vacum the thing and popped out the ashtray cover w. the vacum. Well i got the spring, and were does the smaller end of the spring sit up against the ashtray cover? i see the track on the right side of the cover, i just dont see were the part of the spring sits up against it... also were could i buy a new one as this peice may be cracked i have a 97 and the interior is the lighter tan color
