Just put a 98 36,000 mile tranny in this morning, took it for a test drive and it was great ........ till I put it in reverse to get out of the parking spot.THis thing shuddered so bad that I panicked and threw it into park.Everytime I back up it shudders pretty bad, but only in reverse, is this another common problem with these things?

i have an ls and it doesnt matter what you do to the tranny it is going to shift like that into reverse when its cold every time. once its warm its not near as bad. if you must shift it in a hurry let the idol come down to 900 rpm and then shift into reverse it should help. after the car has been running for a little bit you shouldnt have that problem. theres nothing you can do about that eradic shift into reverse but if you shift it as i have posted you will be much more satisfied. thats just the way lincolns are.
