Custom sub box Help

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hey motts if ya read this I would like to know if you have any pointers to give me before I try to build my first custom box for the trunk. What type of materials should I use??

Use 3/4" mdf (medium density fiberboard). Make a cardboard mock up. Make sure the box volume is within the recommended specs in the info that came with the subs. Take your time, and will turn out pretty good.

Seal the box with silicone or liquid nails, and use 1.5" screws.

also use fiberglass and resin to seal the box all the way up. MDF still leaks air through the wood it's self. that's why it is called "medium density" fiberboard.

This is really not necessary unless you just want a fiberglass box.
