Have a 98 Eldo with 50K, started having start problems about a month ago, retrieved the code ( PO231 ) says Fuel Pump Feedback Circuit. Took it to my Mechanic, he said it was definitely my Fuel Pump and Fuel Filter, replaced both, Pump cost was $417, Filter $27 Total Bill with labor came to $658,
That was exactly 12 days ago, car ran good until last night, same thing again, will not start. Mechanic said he cleared all codes after installation, but now have the same previous code coming up ( PO231 ) and it says current.
My question, did I get a bad fuel pump? Or could I have a problem somewhere else that he might have overlooked? If I continue to crank the car, then it will eventually start and run fine. Could there be some other problem in the Fuel delivery system that could be causing this? I will be taking the car back to him tomorrow and hope that there is some kind of guarantee on the pump, but I will probably have to pay the labor again.
Any and all suggestions or answers to my problem would be gratefully appreciated!! Thanks, TJ
