Aviator 2003?

How's 2003 Lincoln Aviator? Reliable? what type of gas? Transmission problem? I read somewhere the early Avaiator had transmission problem, not sure if true?

Hi, guys, I am new here. While shopping for cars yesterday with family, we ran across a 03 Lincoln Aviator white with 7K in excellent condition in a Mercedes dealer lot, asking $27K. The whole family was impressed with it. Just the right size, beautiful interior, plenty of power, very impressive. Certainly far more exciting than the S500 we were looking at and smaller/easier than the Hummer we have. This is to replace my wife's Jaguar VP or for my 16 yr old first auto. I always admired Lincoln.

I started searching for data on 03 Aviator with limited success except old magazine reviews and factory data. I searched and read the Aviator talks here too, but there is almost no talk about Aviator.

Any suggestions? what to look for and what to avoid? no problem with Aviator? regular gas? Would you say $20K-$22K?
